Create Password-Protected ZIP

Secure selected files using AES-256 ZIP encryption entirely in your browser.

How to use

  1. Choose one or more files, then enter a unique, strong password of at least eight characters.
  2. Create and download an AES-256 encrypted ZIP. Store the password securely: it cannot be recovered.

About these formats

AES-encrypted ZIP protects file contents while leaving some archive metadata, such as filenames, visible to archive tools.

Browser limitations

Maximum 256 MiB combined input and 300 files. AES-256 ZIP compatibility varies by extractor: some older Windows ZIP extractors do not support AES and may require 7-Zip.

Frequently asked questions

Are passwords sent to a server?

No. The password stays in browser state and is never uploaded or saved.

Does ZIP hide filenames?

No. AES ZIP encrypts file contents, not filenames.
